Ratti Gali is an alpine glacial lake above Dowarian in the Neelum Valley of Azad Kashmir, ringed by wildflower meadows and snow peaks. A rugged 4×4 track and a short hike bring you to the water at around 3,700 metres, where the peaks stand reflected in the turquoise surface — one of the finest excursions in all of Kashmir.
Three days: the long, beautiful drive up the Neelum, a day out at the lake, and the journey home. A real high-mountain day for travellers who want the wild side.
Depart Okara with a pickup at Faisalabad or Lahore (the exact point is confirmed when you book), then the long, scenic drive north via Muzaffarabad into the Neelum Valley, following the river up to Dowarian — the base for Ratti Gali. Overnight here.
An early 4×4 jeep up the rough track from Dowarian, then a short hike to the turquoise Ratti Gali Lake — meadows, wildflowers and snow peaks mirrored in the water. Time by the lake before the ride back down to base.
Drive back down the valley with photo stops along the Neelum river, returning to Okara (drop-offs at Lahore / Faisalabad en route) by night.
